Dr. Alan Dorris, Principal Consultant
Dr. Alan Dorris holds a Ph.D. in Industrial & Systems Engineering from Georgia Tech. For more than thirty years, he has conducted research and consulted with clients around the world on issues of safety communications. Dr. Dorris was formerly on the faculty of the University of Oklahama and served as Corporate Manager of Product Safety for the J.I. Case Company. Dr. Dorris is a member of the Georgia Tech College of Engineering Academy of Distinguished Engineering Alumni, the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (HFES), the Society of Automative Engineers (SAE), and is the Senior Member of the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE). He is a member of the ANSI Z535 Committee on Safety Signs and Labels, of which he served as Chairman of the ASNI Z535.4 Product Alerting Subcommitee. Dr. Dorris is also a Registered Professional Engineer (WI) and Certified Human Factors Professional.

Dr. Nathan Dorris, Vice President & Principal Consultant
Dr. Nathan Dorris earned his Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Auburn University. Dr. Dorris has extensive experience in the design and development of instructions and warnings associated with a broad range of products. A frequent presenter, he has authored a book chapter, technical reports, and numerous articles on the design of warning and behavioral responses to safety communications. Professional affiliations include the ANSI Z535 Committee on Safety Signs and Labels, the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (HFES), the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE). Dr. Dorris, also serves as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Auburn University, where he teaches a graduate course in Human Factors Engineering (HFE).

Jason Dorris, Chief Executive Officer
Jason Dorris holds an MBA from Dartmouth College's Tuck School of Business as well as a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Georgia Tech. He has extensive experience in business consulting - both with Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting) as well as with Bain & Company. Mr. Dorris advised clients on a wide range of effective business performance concerns - from high-level strategy development to resolving large-scale financial issues to whole-company operational improvement initiatives. Much of his consulting experience was strategic in nature, and he has especially deep experience in developing innovative and effective growth strategies for companies. Mr. Dorris has also previously worked in the Investment Banking Division of Merrill Lynch & Co. in New York.

Dr. Kelly Burke, Consultant
Dr. Kelly A. Burke earned her Ph.D. in Human Factors Psychology from the University of Central Florida. Dr. Burke has significant experience in the area of the effects of stress, cognitive workload and individual differences in warning presentation retention and compliance behavior and has published several articles regarding these topics. Dr. Burke has experience in the design and development of instructions and warnings associated with various products. She also has professional experience in the design of human centered systems in the aerospace domain. Additionally, Dr. Burke has extensive applied experience in the field of construction engineering. Professional affiliations include the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (HFES).

Jonathan Dorris is an Associate Consultant at Dorris and Associates International. He is responsible for leading various research activities. Rita Omark is an Executive Assistant and Office Administrator at Dorris and Associates International. Rita has many years of experience as an Executive Assistant and in other administrative roles. In addition to these duties, Rita is managing the DAI library and assisting with our information management capabilities. Rita has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Georgia and a Master's degree in Library and Information Science from the Pratt Institute.

Eric Boelhouwer is a Consultant Intern with Dorris and Associates International. He is currently working toward his Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering at Auburn University. Eric has over 8 years of experience in industrial operations and safety with BASF Corporation. In addition to pursuing his Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering, Eric has a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering degree from Georgia Tech and an MBA from Tulane University.
